Pricing

What a solar system costs in Pakistan

Indicative bands so you can budget, and an explanation of why published prices in this market vary by more than three times.

Reading a quotation

Where the difference between two quotes actually lives

Published prices for a 10 kW system in Lahore run from roughly PKR 750,000 to PKR 2,500,000. Buyers assume somebody is overcharging. Usually the two quotes are simply not for the same thing.

The spread

Why one company quotes PKR 899,000 and another quotes PKR 1.6 million

Published prices for a 10 kW system in Lahore currently run from around PKR 750,000 to PKR 2,500,000. Buyers reasonably assume somebody is overcharging. Usually the truth is that the two quotes are not for the same thing.

The difference sits in the bill of materials. Panel tier and warranty terms. Whether the inverter is hybrid or on-grid. Cable gauge and whether it is copper throughout. Mounting structure gauge and whether it is hot-dip galvanised. Protection devices. Whether the net billing application is included. Whether there is any storage at all.

We do not publish a fixed price list, because a system sized without seeing your roof and your load curve is a guess. We do publish an itemised quotation where every line has a reason, which is the only way to compare two proposals honestly.

What the grid pays you for one exported unitPKR 11.33What you pay the grid for one imported unitPKR 524.6x the priceImport tariff varies by slab and by distribution company. PKR 52 is a working average for a high use domestic connection.
Since February 2026, a unit exported to the grid earns roughly PKR 11.33 while a unit bought back costs PKR 37 to PKR 55. Exporting is now selling low and buying high, which is why storing the surplus beats sending it away.

Budgeting

What to ask for so two quotes can be compared

  • Panel make, model, wattage and count, with the warranty term
  • Inverter make, model and whether it is hybrid or on-grid
  • Storage capacity in usable kWh, not nominal
  • Cable gauge and material for both DC and AC runs
  • Mounting structure specification and coating
  • Protection devices, earthing and surge arrestors
  • Whether the net billing application and fees are included
  • What the commissioning documentation includes

Pricing questions

What does a solar system cost in Pakistan in 2026?
Roughly PKR 110,000 to PKR 150,000 per kW installed for a properly specified residential system, so about PKR 1.1 to 1.5 million for 10 kW before storage. Published prices span a far wider range because they are not all describing the same scope.
Why is one quote half the price of another?
Look at what is missing. Structure gauge unstated, cable size unstated, protection devices absent, net billing excluded, commissioning undocumented. Each omission is a real cost that reappears later, usually at a worse moment.
How much does a battery add?
It depends on capacity, and it is the largest single variable in a hybrid quote. What matters more than the sticker is the usable figure: ask for nominal energy and depth of discharge separately, because a headline kWh number without depth of discharge is not comparable between suppliers.
What is the payback period?
Typically two and a half to four years for a residential hybrid system, three to five for commercial on the tariff saving alone. It depends heavily on how much of your consumption falls after dark, which is why the survey asks about your evening rather than just reading a total off your bill.
Do you offer financing?
Not directly. Several Pakistani banks run solar financing products, and we supply whatever documentation they ask for, which is usually the itemised bill of materials and the engineer's design.
Are there hidden costs after installation?
There should not be, which is why the quotation is itemised. The recurring costs are cleaning and an annual inspection, and both are quoted upfront rather than introduced later.
Will prices fall if I wait?
Equipment prices have been broadly flat while the tariff you are paying meanwhile is not. Waiting a year to save a modest amount on hardware usually costs more in bills than it saves, though we will run that comparison on your numbers rather than assert it.
Can I send you a quote from someone else for review?
Yes, and not to undercut it. We will tell you which lines are missing so you can go back to that supplier and ask. A better informed buyer tends to end up with a better system regardless of who builds it.

Send us any quote and we will tell you what is missing from it

Not to undercut it. To show you which lines are absent, because the gap between PKR 899,000 and PKR 1.6 million is almost always in the bill of materials rather than in anyone's margin.
